(Personal Hand Sets) Internet Access Forum Specification
(PIAFS) is an Internet standard that defines a form of rate
adaptation used for handling dial-in connections between
hand-held wireless devices (PHS) or Terminal Adapters (TAs)
and a Shiva® device. PIAFS is used primarily in Japan.
Note:
The firmware that supports PIAFS is located in both the
LanRover™ Access Switch and the Shiva® wide area network
cards. Xircom* PRI cards do not support PIAFS.
